Nick Kravanya graduated from Gillespie High School in 1998, earning a W. E. Schmidt Family Foundation Scholarship. He used his $500 tuition scholarship at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE).
Nick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology before completing his DMD at SIU School of Dental Medicine.
He then returned to Macoupin County to form a private practice partnership with Steve Boente at Boente & Kravanya Family Dentistry in Carlinville.
“I enjoy improving the lives and health of my patients by providing excellent oral health care,” he says. In the future Nick plans to “continue to expand the practice to help provide optimal health care to families in surrounding communities. Being a dentist is a lifelong commitment to learning,” he adds.
Nick is actively involved in the Carlinville Lions Club and the Madison District Dental Society. He and his wife of 11 years, Stacy, also enjoy spending time with family and friends.
“Without post-secondary education, my career would not be possible,” reflects Nick. “Scholarships, such as the one from The Partnership allow students to receive education that might not be possible otherwise.”
Nick is the son of Tony and Marilyn Kravanya of Gillespie.
